Product Overview
Metal sintered diamond drill bits are efficient and durable drilling tools, widely used in geological exploration, construction engineering, stone processing and other fields. Its core feature is that the diamond abrasive grains are firmly fixed on the drill bit base through the high-temperature sintering process of metal powders such as cobalt, nickel, copper, etc., which has both high hardness and wear resistance.
Structure and composition
Diamond layer:
The cutting layer is composed of artificial or natural diamond
particles, and can be arranged in single or multiple layers
according to the purpose. High-grade diamonds such as SMD or MBD
series can increase the service life.
Metal matrix:
Cobalt-based, iron-based or copper-based alloys are commonly used
as bonding phases, and different rock formations can be adapted by
adjusting the metal ratio (such as increasing copper to reduce
hardness and increase toughness).
Matrix:
The steel body such as 45# steel provides structural support and is
usually combined with the diamond layer by sintering or brazing.
Features and Advantages
1. It is more resistant to high temperatures than resin/electroplating binders, can withstand temperatures above 800°C, and is suitable for high-speed and heavy-load processing.
2. It has strong abrasive holding power, is not easy to fall off, and has a 3-5 times longer lifespan.
Application scenarios
Geological drilling: used for medium-hard to hard strata (6-12 rock
formations), such as oil and mineral exploration.
Construction engineering: concrete drilling, reinforced concrete demolition (need to avoid high temperature ablation).
Stone processing: precise hole opening of brittle materials such as marble and tiles.

Hot pressing sintering (HP): temperature 700-1000℃, pressure
30-50MPa, high density.
