OMRON XG4 Series Flat Cable Connectors

The OMRON XG4 series offers mainstream circuit board connectors conforming to MIL standards with improved design. These connectors are designed for high-density mounting and offer simplified patterning due to their 2.54-mm pitch. The MIL-compliant cable ensures faster delivery times and lower costs. The series includes various types such as MIL sockets, relay plugs, MIL plugs, box-type plugs, and board-to-board sockets, providing flexible combinations for different applications.

Precautions

Correct Use

Mounting

• Be sure to anchor the board with screws before mounting.
• Note that a Polarizing Key cannot be mounted on the lower Plug.

Connecting the Socket

• Before connecting the XG4M with Strain Relief, remove as much slack from the cable as possible.
• Attach the Semi-cover before connecting the XG5M-N. It is not possible to use the Hood Cover.

Soldering

• Automated Soldering Conditions (Jet Flow):
• Soldering temperature: 250 5C
• Continuous soldering time: Within 51s
• Solder-mount the XG4A with the lock levers fully closed or fully open.
• Solder-mounting the XG4A with the lock lever half-open may cause play in lock lever due to thermal deformation of the housing.

Lock Lever Operation

• Do not force the lock lever past its movable range, as this may damage the connector.
• Do not use any type of tool to operate the lock lever; operate it only with your hand.
• Always release the lock mechanism before disconnecting the connector from the connected socket.

Storage

• If the lock levers of the XG4A or XG4E connector are left at an intermediate position for a long time, they may become loose due to deterioration of the plastic part. When not in use, store the plug with the lock levers fully closed or fully open.

Notes

• Use with the supplied Strain Relief.
• Use with the supplied Semi-cover. Hood Cover cannot be used.
• Polarity slot pitch is 22.86 mm.
