This document outlines the streamlined manufacturing process for applying decorative wood grain or marble patterns onto stainless steel plates. The core technology combines a PVD vacuum coating for the base color with a thermal transfer process for the detailed pattern.
Substrate Pretreatment → PVD Vacuum Coating → Thermal Transfer → Post-Processing & Packaging
1. Substrate Pretreatment
This critical first step prepares the stainless steel surface
(typically Grade 304 or 316).
Mechanical Finishing: The sheet is polished to a mirror or brushed to a hairline finish, defining the base gloss and texture.
Cleaning & Drying: The plate undergoes thorough chemical cleaning and drying to remove all oils and contaminants. A perfectly clean surface is essential for optimal PVD coating adhesion.
2. PVD Vacuum Coating
This step applies a hard, colored base layer.
Loading & Vacuum: Pretreated sheets are loaded into a PVD chamber, which is sealed and pumped to a high vacuum.
Plasma Etching & Coating: An argon plasma cleans the surface. Then, metal targets (e.g., Titanium) are ionized. By introducing reaction gases like Nitrogen, a hard, colored layer (e.g., Titanium Nitride) is deposited on the steel surface, creating colors like Champagne Gold or Black Titanium.
3. Thermal Transfer Process
This step applies the final wood or marble pattern.
Film Application: A specialized PET film, printed with the desired pattern, is applied to the PVD-coated surface.
Heating & Transfer: The sheet enters a thermal transfer oven. Under controlled heat and pressure, the ink on the film sublimates and permanently penetrates the PVD layer.
Cooling & Peel-off: After cooling, the carrier PET film is peeled away, revealing the finished pattern.
4. Post-Processing & Packaging
The final steps enhance durability and ensure quality.
Protective Coating: A clear, protective layer is applied to guard against scratches and corrosion.
Quality Inspection: Each sheet is inspected for color, pattern clarity, adhesion, and surface defects.
Packaging: A protective film is applied, and sheets are packed securely for shipment.
The Red Bronze Aged Stainless Steel Plate series offers an unparalleled fusion of sophisticated aesthetics and enduring performance. Its signature rich, warm red-bronze hue, achieved through advanced PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating technology, provides a deep, consistent, and uniform finish that is far superior to traditional plating methods. This luxurious appearance evokes a sense of timeless elegance and vintage charm, making it an ideal choice for architects and designers seeking to create visually striking and unique applications. Beyond its beauty, the color is integrated into a highly durable surface that resists fading, ensuring your projects maintain their captivating look for years, even in both indoor and sheltered outdoor environments.
A key advantage of this product line is its versatility across four popular stainless steel grades: 201, 304, 316, and 430. This allows for precise material selection based on environmental demands and budget. The 304 and especially the 316 grades provide excellent corrosion resistance, with 316 offering superior performance in chloride-rich or coastal settings, making the stunning finish practical for a wider range of applications. The 201 grade offers a cost-effective solution for less demanding environments, while the 430 ferritic grade provides good resistance to nitric acid and organic chemicals. This range ensures there is a suitable option for every project, from luxurious interior feature walls and elevator cladding to decorative exterior facades and architectural signage.
Furthermore, these plates combine their visual appeal with the inherent strength and low-maintenance benefits of stainless steel. The substrate material provides excellent structural integrity, impact resistance, and longevity. The non-porous PVD coating is exceptionally easy to clean and maintain, requiring only simple wiping with a soft cloth and mild detergent to preserve its luster, thereby reducing long-term upkeep costs. Its exceptional formability and weldability (varying by grade) allow for significant design flexibility, enabling fabrication into various shapes and profiles for custom projects. Ultimately, this product delivers a perfect synergy of art and engineering, elevating any space with its distinctive character while guaranteeing practical durability.
