Not all excavator undercarriages are the same! They are designed and configured to handle different ground conditions, directly impacting your machine's capability and stability. For standard conditions like dirt and gravel, a typical standard width/length undercarriage offers good balance and maneuverability. Working in soft, muddy, or marshy terrain? You need a Wide Undercarriage (longer track frames and wider track shoes). For even more extreme flotation, Extra-Wide or Swamp Undercarriages with extremely wide triple-grouser shoes are used.
