Why This Gasket?
This gasket is a direct replacement for the OEM part 07C103149Q,
and it’s also compatible with alternative part numbers 07C129717D
and 07C133238H. It’s specially engineered to seal and protect
high-performance 6.0L W12 engines, effectively preventing oil and
coolant leaks while ensuring the engine maintains consistent power
output.
Exact Fit Models & Years
This gasket is precisely compatible with the following models and
production years: For the Audi brand, it fits the Audi A8 D3
(produced from 2003 to 2010, exclusive to high-end trim versions)
and the Audi A8 D4 (produced from 2011 to 2017, with production
discontinued in 2017 for the North American market), both equipped
with the 6.0L W12 engine. For Volkswagen, it’s suitable for the
Volkswagen Phaeton (launched in September 2002, produced until
2010) and the Volkswagen Touareg (produced from August 2004 to May
2010), both matching the 6.0L W12 engine. For Bentley, it fits the
first-generation Bentley Continental GT (a luxury sports coupe
produced from 2003 to 2010) and the Bentley Continental Flying Spur
(a full-size luxury sedan produced from 2005 to 2013), both powered
by the 6.0L W12 engine.
Note: This gasket is not compatible with the Audi S8, as the Audi
S8 uses V8 or V10 engines instead of the 6.0L W12 engine.
Engine & Gasket Specs
The engine displacement matched by this gasket is 5,998 cc, which
is equivalent to 6.0L, fully conforming to the specifications of
the factory 6.0L W12 engine. In terms of gasket position, it is a
left-side gasket, covering the 7–12 cylinder positions of the
engine. The gasket is made of a heat-resistant composite material
that can withstand temperatures up to 400°C (or 752°F) and high
combustion pressure. In terms of sealing scope, it isolates the
combustion chambers, coolant channels, and oil passages of the
engine, effectively preventing cross-leakage between different
fluids.
Core Functions & Vehicle Application
1.Seal Combustion Chambers: It can lock in high-pressure gas (with
a pressure resistance of up to 100+ bar) inside the combustion
chambers, avoiding power loss caused by gas leakage and preventing
engine misfires.
2.Isolate Fluids: It separates the engine coolant and engine oil.
This separation prevents the coolant from entering the oil circuit
(which would cause oil emulsification) and also prevents the oil
from mixing into the coolant (which would contaminate the coolant),
while also helping to prevent engine overheating by ensuring the
normal circulation of coolant.
3.Heat Transfer: It assists in transferring the heat generated by
the cylinder head to the engine block, which is crucial for
protecting the complex cylinder layout of the W12 engine and
maintaining the engine’s normal operating temperature.
4.Gap Compensation: It can fill in the tiny irregular gaps between
the cylinder head and the engine block, ensuring a tight and
reliable seal even after the engine has been in long-term use.
Installation & Maintenance Tips
•
Mounting Requirements: When installing, the printed side of the
gasket must face upward. At the same time, align all bolt holes of
the gasket with the corresponding holes on the cylinder head and
engine block, and ensure that the coolant and oil passages of the
gasket are accurately matched to the 7–12 cylinder positions of the
engine.
•
Torque Requirement: When tightening the cylinder head bolts, it is
necessary to carry out the operation in 2–3 stages and strictly
follow the OEM torque specifications (specifically 25 N·m, followed
by two additional 90° turns).
•
Replacement Rule: Old gaskets must not be reused. For comprehensive
engine protection, it is recommended to replace this left-side
gasket together with the right-side gasket (part number 07C103148Q)
during maintenance.
•
Warning Signs for Replacement: If the engine emits white smoke from
the exhaust, there is abnormal loss of coolant, or the engine oil
appears milky (a sign of coolant mixing into the oil), these are
indicators of possible gasket failure, and the gasket should be
replaced in a timely manner.
Quality Assurance
This gasket is manufactured in accordance with OEM-grade standards,
fully meeting the strict quality requirements of the VW Group for
6.0L W12 engines. It comes with a 12-month warranty, covering any
material defects or leakage issues that may occur within the
warranty period. Additionally, its fitment has been verified
against the latest 2025 auto parts databases, ensuring there are no
fitment problems when used with the aforementioned compatible
models.
