The 200G QSFP56 SR4 AOC is designed for short-range, high-speed data communication links. It integrates four independent full-duplex channels, each operating at 26.56 GBaud (53.125 Gbps with PAM4 encoding), providing an aggregate bandwidth of 200 Gbps. This optical module is an ideal solution for replacing bulkier copper cables, offering a longer reach, higher bandwidth density, and superior immunity to electromagnetic interference (EMI).
This AOC utilizes PAM4 (Pulse Amplitude Modulation 4-level) modulation technology, effectively doubling the data throughput compared to traditional NRZ modulation without increasing bandwidth requirements. It complies with the QSFP56 MSA, IEEE 802.3cd 200GBASE-SR4 Ethernet standard, and CMIS (Common Management Interface Specification) revision 4.0. The electrical interface is 200GAUI-4.
The AOC functions by converting electrical signals into optical signals for transmission over an embedded multi-mode fiber cable. The transmitter side uses a VCSEL (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) array to convert incoming electrical differential signals (TX1P/N to TX4P/N) into light pulses. These pulses travel through the fiber. On the receiver end, a PIN photodiode array detects the light pulses and converts them back into electrical differential signals (RX1P/N to RX4P/N). Integrated CDR circuits on both ends ensure signal integrity and timing recovery.
It is compatible with major brands of switches and adapters supporting the QSFP56 form factor and 200G Ethernet or InfiniBand HDR protocols.
