Product Description
Steel Class Grade 12.9 Nickel Chrome Cadmium Plated Round Mushroom
CSK Flat Head Solid Rivet
Description
A rivet is a mechanical fastener with a head and tail on opposite
sides, consisting of a head, smooth cylinder, and tail resembling a
metal needle. Typically made of aluminum or steel (though other
materials are available), these fasteners provide permanent
assembly through a unique mounting method that differs from
traditional bolts and nuts.
Installation requires a drill hole approximately 1.5mm larger than
the rivet diameter. When installed, the tail deforms on the
opposite side, expanding to about 1.5 times its original size to
create a secure dumbbell-shaped joint.
Applications
| Automotive | High-strength applications including automotive engines, heavy-duty
machinery, and bridge construction, preferred for their larger
support area and superior anti-loosening performance. |
| Mechanical | Used in mechanical, electronic, automotive, and construction fields
for connecting various parts, circuit boards, engines,
transmissions, and building structures. |
| Energy | Connects power generation equipment and transmission lines in the
energy industry. |
| Architectural | Used in construction engineering, shipbuilding, and petrochemical
industries for connecting structures, improving ship stability, and
ensuring equipment safety. |
Material Specifications
| Aluminum | Excellent thermal and electrical conductivity, though naturally
soft requiring proper processing techniques. |
| Titanium | Requires EDM machining with deionized water medium to control heat
during processing. |
| Steel | Very strong material generating significant heat during machining,
requiring special precautions. |
| Brass | High tensile strength and machinability, though requires slower
cutting speeds due to softness. |
Rivet Types
Solid Rivets: The most common and reliable type, consisting of a shaft and head
that can be deformed using a rivet gun or hammer. Available with
100° countersunk head or round universal head. Ideal for critical
safety applications like aircraft structural parts.
Blind Rivets (Pop Rivets): Tubular fasteners with a mandrel center, installed from one side
of the joint. Includes variations like pull core rivets, threaded
rivets (blind riveted nuts), and drive pin rivets for different
applications.
Hollow Rivets: Includes compressed hollow rivets for soft materials and full
hollow rivets for fabrics and plastics. Features countersunk head
open end design with aluminum mandrel and head per DIN7337
standard.
