ASTM A182 specification covers forged low alloy and stainless steel piping fittings used in pressure systems, including flanges, fittings, valves, and similar parts that conform to specified dimensions or size standards. And it covers various grades of low-alloy steels as well as ferritic, martensitic, austenitic, and ferritic austenitic stainless steels. F51 is a duplex steel material grade code under the ASTM A182 standard. 1.Liquid Penetrant Testing: This is almost mandatory and is used to detect surface defects in critical areas such as the flange sealing surface and grooves. Linear defects on the sealing surface are not permitted.
