• Function

1.Converting mechanical energy into hydraulic energy: The main hydraulic pump is usually driven by the engine of the construction equipment through a power take - off (PTO). It draws hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic reservoir and uses mechanical action to create a vacuum at the pump inlet, forcing the fluid from the reservoir into the inlet line. Then, the pump pushes the fluid through the outlet line into the hydraulic system, converting the mechanical energy of the engine into hydraulic energy to power various hydraulic components.

2.Providing hydraulic pressure and flow: The main hydraulic pump generates the hydraulic pressure and flow required to power the various hydraulic functions of the equipment, such as the lifting, lowering, and swinging movements of the boom, arm, and bucket in an excavator. The amount of hydraulic pressure and flow generated by the main pump can be adjusted to suit the requirements of different tasks.
