The addition of copper gives it strong acid resistance, especially to chloride interstitial corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, making it highly resistant to corrosion spots and cracks. Its resistance to pitting corrosion is slightly better than other steel grades, and it has good processability and weldability, making it suitable for pressure vessels.
