The Shenzhen Guanlan Sports Center architectural model stands as a tour de force of precision and artistry, a masterpiece brought to life by the master craftsmen at QZY Models. Commissioned by the Shenzhen Longhua District Architecture Engineering Office, this 1:100 scale marvel—spanning an impressive 2x3 meters in physical size—was delivered in a mere 4 weeks, a timeline that defies industry norms yet never compromised the uncompromising attention to detail that defines QZYModels’ craft.

Every inch of this model bears the hallmark of QZY’s handcrafted excellence, with artisans pouring hundreds of hours of meticulous labor into translating the sports center’s bold, fluid architectural language into a tangible, hyper-realistic miniature. The building’s iconic fractured-glass facade, a defining feature of the real-world structure, was recreated by QZYModels’ team using a hybrid of laser cutting and hand-finishing: each geometric glass panel was precision-cut from ultra-thin acrylic sheets, then individually hand-polished to achieve the subtle light refraction of real glass, before being set into a hand-assembled steel framework that mirrors the complex, organic lattice of the original structure. The model’s integrated LED lighting system, which illuminates the facade with ethereal cyan glows, was hand-wired and concealed within the model’s core by QZY’s technicians—with over 500 micro-LED bulbs placed at exact 1:100 scale intervals, ensuring the lighting effect perfectly mimics the dramatic ambiance of the actual sports center at night.

Beneath the striking exterior, the model’s interior and recreational spaces are equally awe-inspiring in their detail. The multi-level sports facilities—including a full-size (at scale) soccer pitch, tennis courts, and running tracks—were crafted with hand-laid synthetic turf for the pitch (each blade of grass trimmed to 0.5mm height for scale accuracy), hand-painted acrylic for the court surfaces (matching the Pantone colors of the real sports center’s athletic flooring), and hand-carved resin for the track’s textured rubber finish. Even the smallest elements, from the 1:100 scale spectator seats lining the sports fields to the miniature trees and winding pedestrian paths surrounding the building, were individually hand-sculpted and placed by QZY’s artisans, with each tiny figurine of a person or vehicle positioned to reflect the natural flow of human activity in a bustling sports complex.

The model’s structural integrity is another testament to QZY’s engineering prowess: the 2x3 meter frame was hand-fabricated from aircraft-grade aluminum, ensuring stability while keeping the overall weight manageable for transport and display, and the modular construction (a signature QZY design approach) allowed the team to assemble and refine sections simultaneously during the 4-week build process—without sacrificing the seamless cohesion of the final piece. What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that every custom component, from the facade’s latticework to the miniature sports equipment, was either hand-made in QZY’s workshop or custom-sourced and modified to meet the team’s exacting standards.

Our founder: Mr. Richie Ren, has more than 20 years of experience in model-making. Before starting his own business, he worked in a well-known Hong Kong model company. He has successively served as a technician, project leader, technical director of the company’s overseas business department, and head of the marketing department in mainland China. He has rich experience in physical model production and service around the world.
