Dual shot injection molding Process

Dual shot injection molding also named as double shot injection molding, multi injeciton molding, 2 shot injection molding, there are two kinds of resin to be molded together within one single machining circle. see below image.

Since the process is completed in one single step, son only one tooling or mold is needed. the tooling including two core and two cavities, during molding, the first half part to be molded with one resin in one substract tooling, meanwhile, the other half was molded in the other half tooling, they are molded together. after the circle time finished, the tooling rotated 180degree. then the substract part goes into the over mold tooing, the over mold core goes into the substract tooling, so during one circle , one substract is molding and also one complete product is molding.
