The YE097A01 E-PAPER display modules have a wide range of
applications across multiple industries. In retail stores, they
serve as electronic shelf labels, enabling real-time updates of
product prices, stock levels, and promotional information—their low
power consumption eliminates frequent battery replacements. In
logistics and warehousing, they function as smart cargo labels,
displaying waybills, destination details, and inventory statuses,
withstanding harsh transportation conditions (-25~60℃ for up to 10
days). In smart homes and offices, they act as digital notice
boards or control panels, showing schedules, weather forecasts, or
device statuses, and their paper-like visual experience reduces eye
strain during long-term viewing. Additionally, in educational
institutions, they work as electronic nameplates or classroom
information displays, supporting landscape and portrait modes to
adapt to different installation environments. With their reliable
performance, low power consumption, and versatile design, these
modules meet the diverse needs of modern smart scenarios.
Core Advantages

Adopting pure reflective display technology without a backlight
module, the YE097A01 delivers a visual effect identical to
traditional paper—its white state reflectance reaches 35% (typ.),
black state L* value is 13~14, and contrast ratio is 15 (typ.),
ensuring clear and sharp content. The hard-coat antiglare surface
reduces glare under direct sunlight, maintaining readability even
in outdoor environments. With an ultra-wide viewing angle, there is
no color or brightness deviation when viewed from any direction,
making it suitable for multi-person viewing scenarios like retail
shelves or office dashboards. Additionally, it supports both
landscape and portrait modes, adapting to different installation
orientations.
Based on bi-stable display technology, the module only consumes
power during screen refresh—panel power consumption during update
is 250 mAs (max.) at 25℃, and deep sleep mode current is ≤3μA. When
paired with a standard lithium battery, its service life can extend
from several months to years depending on refresh frequency: for
example, electronic shelf labels refreshed once daily can operate
for over 12 months without battery replacement. The integrated
on-chip booster and regulator control generates driving voltages
(VCOM, Gate, Source) internally, reducing external circuit
complexity and further optimizing power efficiency. This makes it
ideal for battery-powered devices in remote or hard-to-maintain
scenarios.
The YE097A01 module features excellent environmental adaptability:
it operates stably at 0~35℃ (45~70%RH) and can withstand
transportation temperatures of -25~60℃ for up to 10 days. It has
passed rigorous reliability tests, including 240-hour
high-temperature (40℃) and low-temperature (0℃) operation, 50
temperature cycles (-25℃~60℃), and 168-hour high-temperature
high-humidity (40℃, 90%RH) operation—ensuring no functional
failures or appearance defects. The hard-coat screen is
scratch-resistant and fingerprint-resistant, preventing damage from
daily friction. With no liquid crystals or organic light-emitting
materials, there is no "screen burn-in" risk, and the designed
service life is 5 years (under normal use: 0~35℃, 45~70%RH, updated
once daily), meeting long-term use requirements in industrial,
retail, and logistics fields.
The module supports 3-wire/4-wire SPI interfaces, selectable via
the BS1 pin—compatible with most microcontrollers, PLCs, and
embedded systems, requiring no complex driver development. It
includes an internal temperature sensor (and supports external
temperature sensors via I2C) for real-time temperature monitoring
and waveform adjustment, ensuring stable performance under
temperature fluctuations. The on-chip display RAM and 10-byte OTP
space simplify data storage and module identification.
Additionally, it offers rich commands for display control, such as
RAM address setting, VCOM adjustment, and deep sleep mode, enabling
customization for different application scenarios. The 24-pin 0.5mm
ZIF Socket connector ensures secure and easy installation, reducing
integration difficulty for developers.
