1. Bellows Material – The Core Factor Determining Seal Life
The performance of the MG9 seal is highly dependent on the elastomer compound. Selection must be based on fluid compatibility and temperature.

Procurement Advice: Never order by the base model "MG9" alone. The material suffix code is critical. Always specify the full compound designation, e.g., MG9-EPDM or MG9-FKM.

2. Seal Face Combination – Influencing Wear Resistance & Heat Dissipation

• Standard & Cost-Effective: Silicon Carbide (SiC) / Resin-Impregnated Carbon-Graphite. Suitable for the vast majority of applications with clean fluids (water, chemicals without hard particles). This is the most cost-effective procurement option.

• Enhanced Wear-Resistant: Silicon Carbide (SiC) / Silicon Carbide (SiC). Recommended for media containing fine suspended solids (e.g., cooling tower water, water with slight impurities). This pairing significantly extends service life. Although the initial procurement cost is higher, the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) may be lower due to reduced downtime and replacement frequency.
