Q: What is the 109549‑01 probe?

A: It is the Bently Nevada 3300 XL NSv Photoelectric Probe (part number 109549‑01) designed for narrow‑spacing and small shaft/flat‑target

applications in the 3300 XL NSv system.

Q: What kinds of applications is it used for?

A: It’s used where standard proximity sensors cannot be accommodated due to tight space, small shaft diameter (< 51 mm / ~2 in),

or flat thrust targets (< ~15 mm / ~0.6 in). Typical uses: radial vibration measurement on small shafts, axial

position (thrust) on flat surfaces, tachometer/Keyphasor signals or zero‐speed sensing

in compact geometry machines.

Q: Is this probe compatible with older Bently systems?

A: Yes — the 3300 XL NSv probe and extension cable are designed to be mechanically and electrically compatible

/interchangeable with earlier Bently Nevada 3300 RAM systems. However, note that when upgrading from

very old systems (e.g., 3000‑series or 7000‑series), you may need the full set of NSv components

(probe + cable + Proximitor sensor) to ensure compatibility.
