Q1: What does this extension cable do?
A1: The extension cable provides the physical and electrical connection between the proximity probe and the Proximitor sensor in the 3300 XL system. It carries the signal generated by the probe to the sensor for processing.

Q2: Can I substitute a different cable length or cable option?
A2: Yes — the 3300 XL extension cable family comes in multiple lengths (for example 4.0 m, 8.0 m, 8.5 m etc) and multiple cable/protector/

armor options. However, when substituting, you must ensure the electrical length and compatibility with the

probe and Proximitor remains appropriate (to maintain system performance and calibration). The

datasheet emphasises that the electrical length of probe + extension

cable + Proximitor must be constant.

Q3: What environmental conditions can this cable handle?
A3: Typical 3300 XL extension cables are rated for harsh environments: for example one variant (330130‑080‑01‑05)

is specified to –52 °C to +177 °C for standard cable option. The connectors are gold‑plated and use

ClickLoc™ locking to resist loosening and to help with robust mechanical connections. If you

have special conditions (e.g., very high temperature, aggressive media, high radiation)

you should verify the specific cable

option’s rating.
