The Automatic Decanter is an essential device in sequencing batch reactor (SBR) wastewater treatment systems. It is designed to automatically discharge the clarified supernatant from the reactor tank without disturbing the settled sludge layer.

Working Principle

During the decanting phase, the decanter arm lowers smoothly into the tank and extracts the clarified water under automatic control. The floating scum and sludge remain undisturbed at the bottom, ensuring a stable effluent quality. The unit is typically controlled by PLC or timer systems for precise operation.
