Nanofiltration Membrane For Water Treatment
The Nanofiltration (NF) Membrane is an advanced membrane separation
technology positioned between ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse
osmosis (RO).
It features pore sizes of approximately 0.001 μm, enabling
selective removal of multivalent ions, organic matter, and
hardness-causing substances while allowing partial passage of
monovalent ions such as Na⁺ and Cl⁻.
This selective separation capability makes NF membranes ideal for
water softening, color removal, organic rejection, and partial
desalination in both industrial and municipal applications.
Nanofiltration operates on a pressure-driven selective separation
principle.
When feed water is pressurized, small molecules like water and
monovalent ions pass through the membrane, while larger molecules,
multivalent ions, and organic compounds are rejected.
The NF process achieves moderate salt rejection (typically 50–90%)
and high organic rejection under lower operating pressures than
reverse osmosis, offering both high efficiency and energy savings.
NF Membrane Sheet: Made of polyamide (PA) thin-film composite material with excellent selectivity and chemical resistance.
Feed Spacer: Ensures uniform feed distribution and reduces concentration polarization.
Permeate Carrier Layer: Supports stable water flow and minimizes pressure loss.
Module Housing: Typically FRP or PVC, providing durability and corrosion resistance.
End Caps & Connectors: Sealed design to ensure easy installation and reliable operation.
Selective Ion Rejection: Removes multivalent ions (Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, SO₄²⁻) while allowing partial passage of monovalent ions.
High Organic Removal: Effectively removes color, organic matter, and macromolecular contaminants.
Low Operating Pressure: Achieves high permeate flux under lower pressure compared with RO membranes.
Energy Saving: Reduced power consumption with stable operation and high recovery rate.
Excellent Chemical Stability: Resistant to oxidation and compatible with standard cleaning chemicals.
Anti-Fouling Design: Smooth membrane surface minimizes scaling and biofouling.
Long Service Life: Durable polyamide composite structure ensures long-term performance stability.
Flexible Integration: Fits standard 4040 and 8040 membrane housings for easy system retrofitting.
Water Softening: Selective removal of hardness ions (Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺).
Drinking Water Purification: Reduction of organic matter, color, and odor.
Industrial Process Water: Pre-treatment for RO systems or high-quality process water production.
Wastewater Reuse: Removal of organic and hardness contaminants in reclaimed water.
Food & Beverage Industry: Concentration and purification of juices, dairy, and process water.
Textile and Dyeing Industry: Color removal and reuse of process water.
Membrane Material: Polyamide Thin-Film Composite (TFC)
Pore Size Range: ~0.001 μm
Operating Pressure: 100–600 psi (customizable)
Salt Rejection Rate: 50–90% depending on feed composition
