How Do Air Springs with Flange Connections Operate?
Simply put, flange-connected air springs change their internal air pressure by filling and expelling compressed air, thus achieving functions such as height adjustment, load support, and vibration damping/isolation.
Inflation (Raising/Loading): Compressed air is filled into the air chamber, increasing the internal pressure. This causes the air chamber to expand, increasing its height and thus lifting the load above it, providing rigid support.
Deflation (Lowering/Unloading): The compressed air is released from the air chamber, decreasing the internal pressure. The air chamber contracts under the weight of the load, lowering its height, and the load decreases accordingly.
Maintaining (Constant Support): After filling with an appropriate amount of air, the system is closed to maintain a constant internal air pressure, thus providing a stable support height and load-bearing capacity.
