Basic Working Principle of Truck Air Springs
Air springs operate based on the compressibility of gas.
Load Control: When a vehicle is loaded, the distance between the axle and frame decreases, compressing the volume inside the air spring, causing the air pressure to increase. This higher air pressure generates greater support force to balance the increased load.
Shock Absorption: When the wheel encounters a bump in the road, the impact force compresses or stretches the air spring. The air within the chamber rapidly compresses or expands, absorbing and damping the impact energy, providing a smooth ride.
Height Hold: The system's height control valve automatically adjusts. When the load increases and the vehicle lowers, the valve opens, inflating the airbag to raise the vehicle to the preset height; otherwise, the air is released.
