Customized 5-slot High-voltage Packaged Ignition Coil Transformer
Module
Introducing the Customized 5-slot High-voltage Packaged Ignition
Coil Transformer Module—a compact and powerful solution designed
for multi-cylinder engine applications and high-voltage DIY
projects. Unlike standard single-output coils, this module
integrates five high-tension towers into a single, rugged package,
allowing for efficient sequential spark distribution in custom
ignition systems. Built for reliability, it operates on a standard
12V input and is ideal for engine swaps, CDI (Capacitor Discharge
Ignition) upgrades, or bench-top high-voltage experiments. Whether
you're an automotive enthusiast or an electronics hobbyist, this
plug-and-play module simplifies wiring while delivering consistent,
high-energy sparks.
Main Application Areas
Automotive Engine Modification and ECU Control
This is the core application scenario of the module. For inline
5-cylinder engines (such as Audi/VAG 2.5 TFSI) or special
modification projects that require independent ignition, the
traditional single ignition coil occupies a large space and has
complex wiring. This 5-slot module integrates all ignition coils
into one package and directly connects to the ECU (engine control
unit) through universal wiring terminals, achieving precise
independent ignition control. This is particularly suitable for
engine swaps, simplification of racing wiring harnesses, and
modernization upgrades of ignition systems in classic car models.
Capacitive Discharge Ignition (CDI) System
This module is used as a high-voltage output stage in CDI systems
for motorcycles, small engines, or high-performance racing cars.
The CDI system first stores low voltage electricity in capacitors,
and then releases it to the primary coil of the transformer at the
moment of ignition. The secondary coil then induces high voltage
electricity of 20kV-40kV, which ignites the corresponding cylinder
mixture through five high voltage towers. This design has the
characteristics of strong spark energy and fast rise time compared
to traditional inductive ignition, especially suitable for
high-speed engines.
Industrial Gas Engines and Generators
For fixed industrial engines (such as generators and compressors)
that use natural gas, propane, or biogas, this module provides a
stable high-pressure ignition source. Its packaging design has good
vibration resistance and dust resistance, suitable for industrial
environments with long-term continuous operation. Five independent
output channels can ensure smooth combustion of multi cylinder gas
engines, reduce emissions, and improve fuel efficiency.
High Voltage Physics Experiment and Educational Demonstration
In laboratory or teaching environments, this module can be used as
a reliable high-voltage generator. Driven by a simple PWM (Pulse
Width Modulation) signal or 555 timer circuit, it can generate
visible arc discharge to the naked eye.
Automation Equipment and Special Machinery
In certain special industrial equipment, high voltage electricity
is required to trigger other devices such as high voltage valves,
electrostatic precipitators, or spark switches. As a standardized
high-voltage transformer component, this module can be directly
integrated into the control cabinet, using the 24V signal of the
PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) to drive the solid-state relay,
thereby controlling the module to generate high voltage for
specific process flows.
Model and Drone Ignition Testing
For large aircraft models, drones, or crop protection machines
using gasoline engines, this module can be used as an ignition
component for ground testing or power kits. Its compact size and
lightweight design (compared to multiple independent coils) help
reduce the weight of the aircraft while ensuring precise ignition
timing for dual or four cylinder gasoline model engines.
Performance Characteristics
Integrated Multi-Output Design
Combines 5 independent high-voltage outputs into a single compact
module, eliminating the need for multiple individual coils and
simplifying wiring harnesses.
High Energy Output
Capable of generating 30kV - 40kV (Kilovolts) per tower (depending
on driver circuit), ensuring reliable ignition under high
compression or demanding conditions.
Low Primary Resistance
Features low primary resistance (typically 1.5Ω - 3.0Ω) allowing
for faster coil charging and higher energy delivery at high RPMs
(Revolutions Per Minute).
Epoxy-Resin Encapsulation
Fully potted with high-dielectric epoxy resin, providing superior
protection against vibration, moisture, dust, and high-voltage
arcing (corona effect).
Compact & Rugged Packaging
Designed as a monolithic block, it offers significant space savings
compared to traditional coil-on-plug setups, making it ideal for
engine swaps and custom builds.
Plug-and-Play Integration
Standardized pin terminals allow for easy connection to aftermarket
ECUs (Engine Control Units) or CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition)
modules without complex modification.
High-Temperature Operation
Constructed with high-grade materials (PBT/PA66 housing) that
withstand continuous exposure to under-hood temperatures (-40°C to
+125°C).
Fast Rise Time
Optimized magnetic circuit design ensures a rapid voltage rise
time, minimizing spark plug erosion and improving combustion
efficiency.
