Product Overview

The TSL2520 is a highly sensitive ambient light sensor from ams OSRAM, featuring a low-profile and small footprint L2.0mm x W1.0mm x H0.5mm optical QFN package. It offers two concurrent ambient light sensing channels, configurable via a programmable multiplexer. The sensor incorporates Infrared and Clear photodiodes, with the Clear channel featuring a UV/IR blocking filter for accurate ambient light measurement and irradiance calculation. This enables improved display appearance and picture taking. Key benefits include invisible ALS sensing under glass, high sensitivity, programmable gain and integration time, a wide dynamic range, low detectable illuminance, and flicker-immune sensing. It operates at 1.8V with low power consumption and minimal IC traffic, featuring an interrupt-driven design and an IC interface up to 1 Mbit/s.
