How to Apply (Deployment & Usage)

1. System Hardwiring & Connection

• KNX Side: Connect the gateway's KNX TP1 port to the KNX main bus/branch bus via twisted pair cables, realizing integration with the existing KNX BAS system (sensors, actuators, touch panels).
• DALI Side: Connect the gateway's DALI port to the DALI bus, and connect all DALI lighting drivers/ballasts to the DALI bus in parallel (comply with DALI bus wiring specifications, no polarity requirements).
• Installation: Fix the gateway on the 35mm DIN rail in the electrical control box/cabinet, and ensure the installation environment is dust-free and well-ventilated (IP20 protection level).

2. Device Configuration & Parameter Setting

• Complete the gateway's KNX address allocation, DALI bus parameter setting and device matching via KNX ETS 5/6 professional software (the gateway provides standard ETS product database files for direct import).
• Divide DALI lighting devices into groups/zones in ETS software, and set dimming curves, on-off delay, brightness threshold and other control parameters according to project requirements.

3. Lighting Control & Scene Linkage

• Local/On-site Control: Realize single-point control of lighting via KNX touch panels, wall switches and human body sensors connected to the KNX bus.
• Scene Linkage: Set customized lighting scenes (e.g., office working mode, meeting mode, leisure mode) in ETS software, and realize one-click activation of scenes via KNX control terminals.
• Automatic Control: Link with KNX presence detectors, brightness sensors and time switches to realize automatic dimming/on-off of DALI lighting (e.g., turn on lights when someone is present, adjust brightness according to natural light intensity).

4. System Monitoring & Maintenance

• The gateway supports real-time status feedback of DALI lighting devices (on/off, dimming value, fault status) to the KNX bus, and the running status of the entire lighting system can be viewed via KNX central monitoring software.
• When a DALI lighting device fails, the gateway will send a fault alarm signal to the KNX system, realizing quick fault location and reducing maintenance time and costs.

5. System Expansion

• When the lighting project needs to expand DALI devices, only need to add DALI drivers/ballasts to the DALI bus and update the device database in ETS software (no need to replace the gateway).
• The gateway can be seamlessly integrated with other KNX BAS subsystems (HVAC, shading, security) to realize cross-system intelligent linkage (e.g., lighting + air conditioning linkage when entering the room).
