Construction Sand Cleaning Equipment
1.Product Introduction
Construction Sand Washing Equipment, commonly known as a Sand
Washer or Stone Washer, is specialized machinery used to remove
impurities such as clay, stone powder, and organic matter from
natural or manufactured sand. Its primary objective is to produce
clean, well-graded sand that meets construction standards (such as
ASTM C33), ensuring the strength and durability of building
materials like concrete and mortar. Common types include Spiral,
Wheel Bucket, Drum, and Vibrating sand washers.
2.Application
• Construction Engineering: Used for cleaning concrete aggregates
in key projects like highways, high-speed railways, bridges,
tunnels, and dams, where clay content must be below 1% or even
0.1%.

3.Working Principle
While the specific mechanics vary by type, the core principle is
based on a combination of mechanical agitation, hydraulic scouring,
and frictional collision:
1. Spiral Sand Washer
Material enters the lower end of the water tank and is continuously
tumbled and pushed by low-speed rotating spiral blades. The
material is thoroughly cleaned through friction in the water;
impurities are discharged with the overflow, and clean sand is
unloaded from the discharge port at the upper end.
2. Wheel Bucket Sand Washer
The motor drives the impeller to rotate in the water tank. Buckets
on the circumference scoop up the sand, which comes into full
contact with the water and is rinsed during the lifting process.
Impurities settle or overflow, and the clean sand is discharged
after dewatering.
3. Drum Sand Washer
Material enters a rotating cylinder lined with wear-resistant
rubber plates that lift and drop the material. High-pressure water
is simultaneously injected, causing the material to be washed
repeatedly as it rolls. Clean material is discharged after
dewatering via a screen, while muddy water flows out from end
plates.
4. Vibrating Sand Washer
Material jumps and rolls on a vibrating screen surface while being
continuously rinsed by overhead water sprays. Fine impurities pass
through the screen holes and are discharged with the muddy water,
while clean coarse sand is unloaded from the end of the screen.
