Inconel 617 Strips (UNS N06617) are solid-solution-strengthened nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum alloys designed for continuous service from cryogenic temperatures up to 982 °C (1800 °F). The alloy’s balanced chemistry—approximately 52 % Ni, 22 % Cr, 12.5 % Co, 9.5 % Mo, 1.2 % Al, and minor Ti—provides outstanding resistance to oxidation, carburization, and high-temperature corrosion in both oxidizing and reducing atmospheres. Inconel 617 maintains tensile strength above 760 MPa and elongation of 30 % after solution annealing, with no loss of ductility after extended thermal exposure. Its exceptional resistance to chlorides, superheated steam, and high-purity water makes it the material of choice for heavy-duty furnace components, gas-turbine transition ducts, and heat-treating baskets. The alloy is readily formed by stamping, bending, and fine blanking, and welds cleanly via TIG/GTAW or electron-beam processes, retaining full mechanical properties post-weld. Available in thicknesses from 0.05 mm to 5 mm and widths up to 300 mm, Inconel 617 Strips meet stringent ASTM B166/B168 and AMS 5520 standards for strip and foil form.

Q1: Why select Inconel 617 Strips for high-temperature service?
A1: Their solid-solution strengthening sustains mechanical
integrity up to 982 °C without aging treatments, plus superior
oxidation and corrosion resistance in diverse atmospheres.
Q2: Are Inconel 617 Strips weldable and formable?
A2: Yes. They weld readily by TIG/GTAW or electron-beam and form
easily via stamping, bending, and fine blanking, retaining full
mechanical properties post-weld.
Q3: What strip dimensions and conditions are available?
A3: Standard thicknesses range from 0.05 mm to 5 mm, widths up to
300 mm; available in mill-annealed or stress-relieved conditions
per ASTM B166/B168 and AMS 5520.
