• Increasingly strict emission regulations require diesel engines to use clean fuel and internal purification, and must adopt necessary post-treatment purification devices. Particulate trap (DPF) is the most commonly used post-treatment technology for PM emissions.
• The main part of DPF is filter carrier, which is mainly divided into ceramic-based and metal-based according to materials. Ceramic-based DPF carrier materials include cordierite, silicon carbide, mullite, zirconia and so on; Metal-based DPF carrier materials include sintered metal, foam metal, wire mesh and so on. At present, the most commonly used filter materials are cordierite and silicon carbide.
• The design structure of DPF includes wall flow type and fluid type, and the most common one is wall flow type. This type of DPF usually adopts cylindrical ceramic structure, which forms many fine and parallel channels in the axial direction. Different from the trap with general flow-through structure, the wall-flow filter element structure is blocked at either end in the adjacent channel of the filter layer, so as to force the exhaust gas to pass through the porous wall surface and realize the collection of particulate matter
